i.
What is Tinkercad?
Tinkercad is a
simple online 3D design tool that is used to create simple designs from scratch
or quickly modify existing designs.
ii.
Explain the significance of the Ruler tool.
The ruler tool is in the helpers section on the right hand side of the
Tinkercad window.
It allows us to measure the different dimensions of objects and distances
between them.
iii.
Explain the steps to change the measurement units to Inches?
Tinkercad allows you to change the unit
of measurement with the Edit grid button.
Click on the drop down arrow of Units to switch to Units
/ Inches.
iv.
What is the use of Edit Grid?
It is possible to modify the size of the grid in Tinkercad.
This is helpful when you want to make sure that your design will fit on
your printer without having to scale it
v.
Explain the main components of a 3D printer.
Filament
Extruder
Nozzle
Print bed
Layer cooling fan
SD Card reader
vi.
List some of the measures involved in the maintenance of a 3D printer.
Do not use the printers unless you
are being trained.
Always keep the built plate clean.Ensure surfaces that slide against each other are sufficiently lubricated
to operate smoothly and not cause friction
that could physically wear out the parts.
The nozzle may clog from time to time. Thus you
should clean the nozzle periodically with a small drill.Tighten the pulley
screws as due to the continuous motion there are vibrations in the system that result
in the loosening of the pulley screws.
Always remove the filament from the printer and
keep it away from moisture when the machine is
not in use.
