Q1. What are the sources of Food?
Ans. Animal sources-
We get meat, milk, eggs etc from animals. Food items
obtained from animals contain proteins, Fats, Vitamins and Minerals.
Plant sources-
A large variety of seeds , fruits, leaves, stems, roots
and flowers of certain plants are used as food.
Food items obtained from plants contain carbohydrates,
proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins and fibre.
Q2. Write difference between Carnivores and Scavengers.
Ans. Scavengers Carnivores
1. Animals
that feeds on 1. Animals that hunt and
eat other dead animals . flesh of other animals.
2. Eg: wolf ,vulture,
eagle. 2. Eg: lion,tiger ,shark ,fox

Ans.1. Carbohydrates – Energy giving food .

the Iron in the body. Decreases the
total number of red blood cells (RBCs) or haemoglobin in the blood.

to eat Protein rich food because during
childhood ,the bones and muscles are growing.
•A labourer doing hard
work needs more of carbohydrates and fats, as he needs more energy.

Roughage do not provide nutrients still it is essential for our body.

Roughage allow the waste matter to move more easily and prevent constipation.
For proper digestion we should have enough roughage or Dietary fibre in our
diet.
4. Vitamin D is also called as the Sunshine Vitamin.
Ans. Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin
because it can be formed by direct
sunlight.
It helps to absorb calcium and is
important for children to develop strong bones and teeth
